Travel Inspiration from Morocco

Travel Inspiration from Morocco

This month, I took a trip to Agadir in beautiful Morocco—and came home completely inspired. From the architecture and landscapes to the intricate patterns and textures woven into everyday life, I found creative sparks everywhere I looked.

One of the highlights was visiting the largest souk in Africa—a true feast for the senses. The scent of Moroccan spices hung in the air, mingling with the buzz of market chatter and the feel of richly textured fabrics and handcrafted ceramics under my fingertips. Wandering through it was like stepping inside a kaleidoscope. The mosaic tiles—geometric, vibrant, and full of history—were a complete visual treat. The architecture was stunning, arched entrances, intricate woodwork, and perfectly symmetrical façades that felt both grand and welcoming.

Agadir might not be the most traditional or historic city in Morocco, but I still discovered beautiful glimpses of its culture everywhere—from the layout of the souk to the way sunlight filtered through latticework and danced across tiled walls.

I came home brimming with ideas and already dreaming up a Moroccan-inspired collection—watch this space!

Morocco, thank you for the inspiration!

We never know how new experiences will affect us. Seeing different shapes, colour combinations, sounds, scents and scenery opens our minds to different cultures. I can’t wait to see how these experiences will be manifested in your art Kat.
