I’m Kat, the illustrator and founder behind Katsillustration.
I create colourful, playful designs for everyday occasions, from cards and gift wrap to art prints and whatever comes next — all inspired by a lifelong love of illustration, stationery and great design.
A LITTLE REBELLION AGAINST BEIGE
I’m an 80s kid, which probably explains a lot.
I grew up surrounded by bright packaging, bold prints, patterned interiors and shops where even choosing a notebook felt like an occasion. I loved the excitement of finding something new — a sheet of stickers, a set of pens, a ridiculously good notebook — and I still get that feeling now.
That love of stationery eventually led me to my dream job at Paperchase. I started just one day before the company went into administration — definitely not what I had imagined! But working there throughout that period was a brilliant experience and gave me a fascinating insight into the world of stationery, retail and the people who love it.
It also reminded me why I’d always wanted to create things of my own.
That sense of fun and discovery is still at the heart of Katsillustration. I create colourful, characterful designs with a little bit of the unexpected — things that make everyday occasions feel a bit more special.

MADE BY AN ILLUSTRATOR
Every Katsillustration design is created by me, from the first sketch to the finished artwork.
I have a degree in illustration and over 20 years of experience developing my own style, working across drawing, painting, digital collage and layered textures. I’m particularly inspired by fashion, textiles, pattern and colour, and love bringing those influences together in unexpected ways.
Katsillustration has also been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Huffington Post, Entertainment Weekly, E! Online and more.
MADE WITH CARE
I care about how Katsillustration products are made, from the materials I use to the people I work with. I choose FSC-certified and sustainably sourced papers and cards, work with UK-based manufacturers where possible, and use recyclable, plastic-free or reusable packaging wherever I can.
I’m not perfect, but I’m always looking for ways to make better choices and reduce waste as the business grows.
